Littelfuses TMOV and iTMOV thermally protected metal oxide varistor line to include the new 14mm disc size. These smaller AC Line varistors offer a 30% reduction in size over the current 20mm versions and are ideal for use in space limited applications such as lighting dimmers, GFCI, and Arc Suppressors. The new products help TVSS designers achieve product compliance to abnormal over-voltage occurrences across a wider range of voltages. For example, Littelfuse 20mm TMOV and iTMOV components can now be used across entire TVSS product lines, supporting a full range of voltages — from 115V to 750V.

As with the 20mm devices, the 14mm devices are approved to UL1449 (TVSS) and UL1414 (Across the line capacitor) Standards. Additionally, these devices are presently being evaluated to numerous tests of the TCO standard UL1020, with results currently pending. Both 14 and 20mm devices also comply with Accelerated Aging Test requirements per. ANSI/IEEE C62.11 and may be used in secondary surge arrestors without repeating this test.

Designed for TVSS modules, these innovative products can also be used in a variety of devices requiring power conditioning and protection, such as Non-interruptible Power Supplies, Off-Line Power Supplies, Lighting Products and Communication Products. The TMOV and iTMOV varistors are offered in standard radial lead packages with operating voltages ranging from 115VAC to 750VAC (115VAC to 420VAC for 14mm types).
