The WJN series Jog Ball switch is currently the smallest trackball-type input device in the industry. The small form factor of 10.9 mm x 10.9 mm makes the jog suitable for portable devices such as cell phone, PDA, digital camera, music player and remote control. Typically, the jog ball can be used for menu-navigation and confirmation operations. For instance, Panasonic’s D-SNAP multi camera utilizes the jog ball to make finding and displaying photos easy and effortless. Pressing down the jog ball will activate a switch to turn the image 180 degrees so a person facing the camera can see it. Another use of the jog ball is to magnify a selected portion of playback using the target zoom function. The jog ball switch has a long operation life of 1 million cycles, thanks to a non-contact magnetic detection system. Other features include high resolution (11 pulses / 360 degree) and wide range of operating temperature (-20°C to +70°C). < Back to Panasonic Electromechanical
