HCR-largeMurata Electronics has developed a new concept in crystal based timing devices in the form of a hybrid quartz crystal (HCR) known as the XRCGA series.  This new Hybrid Crystal features a small quartz crystal element combined with Murata's unique ceramic resonator production packaging technology resulting in devices that can maintain the precision offered by the quartz crystal with the small size and low cost typically associated with ceramic resonators. Developed initially in response to consumer market demands for high precision, small package, low cost timing devices for USB and SATA interface disk drive applications, the new XRCGA series is ideal for a number of high speed / higher precision timing applications which can benefit from a smaller, lower cost hybrid quartz crystal solution. The XRCGA series is available in frequencies from 24 to 48 MHz (select frequencies initially) in a 2.00  x 1.60 x 0.7mm surface mount package . The high precision hybrid quartz crystals have initial frequency deviation of ±100 ppm and temperature characteristic of ±50 ppm over the operating temperature range of 
-30 to +85°C. The series is RoHS compliant.
