Side Entry Bushing Product | TE Connectivity

TE Connectivity’s new side entry bushing (SEB) for military, commercial aerospace, and commercial marine environments is designed for high temperature applications where tape or fixed grommets are used. One strip of the pre-coiled, reusable SEB can replace up to 6 feet and 40 wraps of silicone tape traditionally used in strain relief of wire and cables.

The flexible, compressible bushings are thermally formed so they naturally conform and gather circular bundles to provide excellent strain relief where environmental sealing is not required. In addition, the SEB does not contain an adhesive layer, which makes the product easily removable without leaving behind messy adhesive residue, and can often be re-used after repairs have been made.

Currently available in six standard sizes, the bushings can be trimmed to fit to any size clamp/wire combinations. Side entry bushings are thermoformed from a silicone elastomer with a temperature rating to 180°C continuous use and flame-retardant. They maintain outstanding low-temperature flexibility, and resist hydraulic fluids, fuel, and lubricating oils. The bushings conform to MIL Standard AMS-DTL-23053/10, MIL-PRF-46846 Type II Class 1, and TE specification RT-1140 for silicone elastomeric materials.

Features & Benefits:

  • Fewer wraps than conventional silicone tapes
  • High temperature resistant silicone material rated to 180 degrees C
  • Trim to fit capabilities. Fit any size saddle clamp/wire bundle combination
  • Thermally formed so it naturally conforms to circular wire bundles
  • Re-usable
  • 6 standard sizes available
  • No adhesive layer for easy removal
  • Conforms to Mil Standard AMS-DTL-23053/10, MIL PRF-46846 Type ll Class 1 and RT-1140

Applications:

  • Used in a non-environmentally sealed backshell and in clamping and wire management applications
