Conductive Polymer Aluminum Capacitors | Nichicon

Nichicon’s Conductive Polymer Aluminum capacitors are well suited for today’s high speed digital equipment. The conductive polymer construction (solid electrolyte) also provides for higher ripple current, smaller size and longer life when compared to equivalent standard aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Polymer capacitors have several advantages over the standard Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor. The polymer electrolyte has a higher conductivity than the liquid electrolyte used in standard capacitors, resulting in lower ESR. This permits a single polymer type capacitor to replace several aluminum electrolytic types, resulting in a reduction of board space used and total number of components on the board. The Aluminum Polymers are excellent for power supplies, power smoothing circuits for motherboards, games, Car Navigation, LCD and Plasma TV’s as well as motherboard CPU backup circuits. The CF (SMT) and LF (radial lead) series have ultra low ESR with a voltage ranges from 2.5V to 25V. The CJ (SMT) and LE (radial lead) series offer up to 30% lower ESR when compared to standard polymer types. The CJ has a voltage range of 2.5v to 16v with a capacitance range of 33 to 2700uf. The LE series also has a voltage range of 2.5v to 6.3v and a capacitance range of 470-1500uf. The CG and LG Series offer higher capacitance. Nichicon’s new FP Caps are available in both radial and surface mount types. The RE series are radial leaded with voltage ranges from 2.5V to 25V and capacitance ranges from 10uF to 2700uF. The ME series are surface mount with voltage ranges from 2.5V to 16V and capacitance ranges from 180uF to 1500uF. The polymers are self healing which means that the PEDT material in the capacitors is able to expand and deflate with heat fluctuations and will not burst.
