Panasonic Electric Works (Aromat) NaPiOn & NaPiCa Sensors

Panasonic Electric Works Motion Light SensorsPanasonic Electric Works (formerly Aromat) offers premier sensor products, including the NaPiOn (AMN) motion sensor and the NaPiCa (AMS) light sensor.

NaPiOn (AMN) Motion Sensor:

  • Fully integrated assembly – The NaPiOn is a fully integrated motion sensor with built-in amplifier, and a multi-surface lens construction. To make this sensor as close to plug & play as possible, it even comes with a power stabilizer, comparator and optical filter. To improve further on the performance of this device, it comes with a quad type passive infrared element to reduce false triggering and improve sensitivity.
  • Miniature size – This is a unique product that inorporates all necessary c omponents in an ingenious miniature package that is less than 10mm in diameter and less than 15mm in height including the terminal pins and multi-surface lens for standard detection type. This miniature package was made possible with our proprietary Microscopic Integrated Processing Technology (MIPTEC) forming a microscopic 3-dimensional circuit on an injection molded solid substrate.
  • Excellent noise withstanding capability – All electronic devices are affected by electrical and magnetic fields. To minimize this effect, Panasonic Electric Works has shielded all electronic comonents of the NaPiOn sensor by enclosing them insdie a TO-5 metal can. The most important component to be enclosed in this metal shield is the amplifier. External amplifiers will amplify both the signal and noise multiplying the effect of this noise and degrading a key parameter called signal to noise ratio. The NaPiOn sensor has built-in amplifier inside the TO-5 metal can thus maximizing the signal to noise ratio.

NaPiCa (AMS) Light Sensor:

  • Environmentally-friendly light sensor – The NaPiCa is a cadmium-free silicon-based light sensor that is safe for the environment and meets all RoHS requirements.
  • Built-in amplifier – Th NaPiCa light sensor is integrated with built-in current amplifier making it one of the most user-friendly products on the market with large enough photocurrent to be read directly by a microprocessor.
  • Wide and linear dynamic range – NaPiCa light sensor has a linear output current relative to input light intensity thus eliminating the need for look up tables. Look up tables require memory space and programming time. Linear output makes it easy to use a simple algorithm to determine light intensity.
