The newly issued RoHS 2011/65/EU regulation brings with it some changes.

• RoHS 2011/65/EU states beginning July 22, 2014 Medical devices are within RoHS scope.
• In-vitro medical devices will be within RoHS scope beginning July 22, 2016.
• Additional Category for Monitoring and Control Equipment-starting July 2014.
• Industrial Monitoring and Control to be within scope starting July 2017.
• "Catch all" Category: Other electrical and electronic equipment not covered by any of the other categories.
• Exemptions will now have expiration dates. In order to remain valid an exemption shall be re-examined and approved within the rules and timing set forth in the directive.
• Finished Goods Manufacturers shall document conformity via an EC declaration of conformity, to be retained for 10 years.
• CE marking shall be applied to the finished good or labeling.

As a component distributor, these changes will have little, if any impact on TTI. TTI will remain at the forefront of distribution by continuing to facilitate the flow of RoHS information throughout the supply chain. Since 2006 our RoHS processes and procedures have evolved to provide timely, accurate RoHS information to all supply channel participants.
