KEMET Evox Rifa Surface Mount Paper/Film Capacitors consist of one of four metallized dielectric; Polyester (PET), Polyethylene Naphthalate (PEN), Polyphenylene Sulphide (PPS), and Impregnated Paper.  KEMET Evox Rifa Polyester or PET metallized film capacitors have a high dielectric constant and high dielectric strength which provides good volumetric efficiency for metallized polyester film capacitors. KEMET Evox Rifa PET Capacitors use a metallized polyester film that exhibits excellent self-healing properties and is generally used in bypassing, coupling, or filtering applications.

Capacitor Construction:
KEMET Evox Rifa Polyester (PET) film capacitor for surface mounting uses an encapsulating material that is self-extinguishing meeting all requirements of the UL 94V-0.

Recommended Soldering Conditions:
KEMET Evox Rifa recommends reflow soldering on the top body surface of the capacitors only.  Preheating the KEMET Evox Rifa capacitor should not exceed 170°C.  The time in which the KEMET Evox Rifa capacitors are above 217°C should be limited to less than 50 seconds, with the peak temperature during the process never exceeding 240°C.
