The MicroCross™ DVI connector family is based on an innovative use of "crossing" ground blades to provide high-speed electrical performance in a low-cost connector. These and other advantages allowed this system to be chosen as the interface for the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) Digital Visual Interface (DVI) standard. The Molex MicroCross DVI system provides a high-bandwidth video interface for the host and display devices of today, while addressing the bandwidth requirements of tomorrow.
Molex's DVI Link riser card provides end users and system integrators with a low-cost solution for bringing the DVI to the desktop. Offered as a system to upgrade Intel* desktop board platforms, the DVI Link riser card provides a simple add-in solution that does not require a PCI, but connects via the Intel DVO motherboard connector or any Intel AGP motherboard slot. It provides support for the full 5 Gb/s of video bandwidth required by the DVI single link interface.
The AGP interface is the newest addition to Molex's MicroCross DVI link riser card. This new interface accepts AGP connectors on the motherboard while the PC is turned off. All of the existing DVI link riser card benefits are still achieved with this new interface.
