TTI'S EVERDAY SPECIALISTS

  • A connector reel is mistaken for a movie reel and is wrongly shipped to an upcoming trade show. Impossible mission? Not for TTI. Read on to see how this “reel” life drama unfolds.

When CLASSIFIED customer called to say they had not received their connector order and their production line would be shut down, the account rep. followed proper procedure and quickly went to work methodically tracking down the order. He discovered that CLASSIFIED carrier had delivered the order to the wrong company at the wrong address.

After checking on the availability of additional parts, the field sales rep. determined there was not enough time, based on the factory lead time, to ship additional parts, so he did what any exceptional Specialist would do in a pinch. He got in his car and drove to the delivery site and soon found himself on the expansive CLASSIFIED campus; 18 buildings, 8 lobbies! With the persistence and determination of a special agent he made his way through each reception area and finally at the fourth location he was directed to a CLASSIFIED warehouse where the parts were thought to be. Here the plot thickens and as he receives some vital information it is revealed the package has been received but was sent in interoffice mail to CLASSIFIED Marketing/Advertising in San Francisco.

However, in typical Specialist fashion, the field sales rep. knows his mission is not complete and vows to not give up until the parts are recovered. He leaves his special agent cell phone number and as he is driving back to the office he receives a call from a helpful CLASSIFIED employee that asks, “Does the item in the package look like a motion picture reel?” Mystery solved, the parts were on a reel that could have been mistaken as a movie reel. Not knowing what it was, CLASSIFIED shipped it along with signage and advertising tools to a trade show in Chicago! The Specialist steps in to see what can be done to retrieve the package from the windy city.

At their own expense, CLASSIFIED returned the parts to the rep. who hand-carried them to a very happy customer. Not only was the customer impressed that TTI would go to such extremes to track down and find their missing parts but also hand-deliver them to assure that the production line was not shut down. His efforts made quite a lasting impression. Success, Mission Accomplished!

  • Shut Down Lines? Not on TTI’s Watch! CLASSIFIED, a company in Guadalajara, Mexico called late on a Friday to see if TTI could fulfill an emergency order of resistors needed first thing Monday morning to keep a major revenue–producing line active. Can TTI save the day? Of course!

With TTI’s broad inventory the resistors needed were on hand and available for immediate delivery to Mexico. However, the traditional methods of shipping failed when the shipper missed their connection. Saturday morning CLASSIFIED calls, the emergency has now reached mission critical status.

Can TTI come through? Absolutely. TTI’s Director of Logistics immediately went to the TTI warehouse to develop a solution. With his deep experience in counter-to-counter deliveries needed on demand, he knew just the steps to take. He consulted his trusty “emergency procedure manual” and went to work. Using his special ops experience and his network of key industry professionals, TTI’s Director of Logistics pulled the proper parts, made arrangements for the order to ship out that same day and clear customs seamlessly over the weekend.

Based on speedy thinking, dedication to the customer and attention to detail, CLASSIFIED’S inventory arrived and was released in time to start work and full production on Monday morning. Mission Accomplished!
