Fort Worth, Texas – May 26, 2020 – TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the TEPT5700 ambient light sensor from Vishay, optimized to replicate the human eye response to control backlighting and other functions in hand-held, medical and industrial products.

The TEPT5700 ambient light sensor is a silicon NPN epitaxial planar phototransistor in a T-1 package. It is sensitive to visible light, much like the human eye, and has peak sensitivity at 570 nm. Its photo sensitivity is adapted to human eye response. Ambient light sensors are able to control display backlight dimming in LCD displays and keypad backlighting of mobile devices and in industrial on/off lighting operation. It is packaged in leaded T-1 through-hole 3mm epoxy housing.  Vishay’s new product is compatible with industry standard soldering processes, environmentally friendly, RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
