The Mini-SAS HD product portfolio is the next generation SAS based storage I/O System that allows for the signal transmission of both SAS 2.1 ( 6 Gb/s per channel) and the proposed SAS 3.0 (12Gb/s per channel) industry standard protocols. The Mini-SAS HD standards Increases linear board density while doubling the maximum per port aggregate bandwidth.

The portfolio offering consists of both internal and External I/O systems (cables and connectors) that meet the product definitions as defined in the SFF-8643 and SFF-8644 standards. External board connectors deliver full 360 degree shielding in single port (1x1) , dual port (1x2) and quad port (1x4) designs. The Internal board connectors are offered in the same sizes with the rugged mounting brackets.

All board connector systems are fully compliant to SAS 2.1 and proposed SAS 3.0 now allowing customers to seamlessly move from SAS 2.1 to SAS 3.0 without any part number or design changes. Both systems are terminated to the PCB via eye-of-the–needle terminations in a single step process.

The external & internal cables are offered in both 4x (4 channels) and 8x (8 channel) styles for both the SAS and the proposed SAS 3.0 signal speeds. External cables feature rugged die cast covers, a metal latch low actuation force , a durable pull tab and superior raw cable strain relief.

The internal cables utilize high speed planar raw cable that allows the user to bend the cable at 90 degree transitions will little to no signal degradation. All internal cables also support side band signaling.

ICC now offers its Mini-SAS HD with optical cables for SAS 2.1 (6G) and SAS 3.0 (12G) protocols. The cable features a 2.9 mm diameter helix based optical cable that allows for easy cable routing in any direction, as well as boots that will accommodate either straight fiber exit at the back of the connector end or a right angle cable exit. Cable lengths are from 5 meters to 100 meters.
