KYOCERA AVX Low Profile IDC Connectors

Kyocera AVX 9176 "Gas-Tight" Wire-to-Board Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDC) are developed to meet the harsh automotive and industrial market applications for connecting individual wires directly to a PCB ranging from 28AWG to 14AWG. This contact system has been tested to automotive levels of shock, vibration, and temperature cycling to prove their reliability and robustness. The simplicity of inserting a wire into an SMT contact with a small tool or optional retention/termination cap allows a wide range of devices to be connected to the PCB without soldering. The 9176 "gas-tight" connectors are offered in various heights, terminations (surface mount or plated through hole), and positions for size-critical applications.

In the words of The Sommelier in John Wick, engineers will often need something robust, something… precise, and when it comes to connectors, the Kyocera AVX 9176 offers engineers exactly these two points. The Kyocera AVX 9176 are gas-tight wire-to-board insulation displacement connectors that are designed for use in harsh environments such as automotive equipment, and support wires from 28 to 14 American Wire Gauge. The reduction in the Z-axis height by 1 millimetre and reducing the volume by 50% ha resulted in a much smaller package compared to previous versions, enabling engineers to pack in more capability for the same given area. At the same time, the voltage rating of these connectors is 100 volts, and the maximum current rating is 6 amps (which depends on the wire size used). With an operating temperature range of minus 40 to 125 degrees C, the Kyocera AVX 9176 range of connectors are able to provide the most reliable performance in all environments.
