The Bourns® Model CRE2512 Series meets many requirements of a high powered current sense resistor (up to 3 W). It offers low resistance values of 1 to 9 mOhms to help minimize power consumption. The Model CRE2512 comes standard with a 1 % resistance tolerance to help maximize energy savings. The standard Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) is just ±75 PPM/°C which ensures a stable operating accuracy over wide temperature ranges. It also uses a specialized sensing material to ensure a low thermal Electromotive Force (EMF).
Current sense resistors are growing in popularity due to their high measurement accuracy and relatively low cost compared to other technologies. These resistors detect and convert current to an easily measured voltage which is proportional to the current through the device.
