Bourns PTVS15-SH Series High Current TVS Diodes

The Bourns PTVS15-SH Series High Current bidirectional TVS diodes are designed for use in high power DC bus clamping applications. These devices offer bidirectional port protection and are available with standoff voltage ratings of 58V and 76V. The PTVS15-SH TVS diodes come with excellent performance over temperature that range from -55°C to +125°C. The TVS diodes exhibit an excellent surge response versus temperature, with a maximum surge current rating at 150°C, which is 70% of their rated value at 25°C.

The PTVS15-SH series TVS diodes provide high surge current protection with a peak pulse current rating of 15kA. The TVS diodes are RoHS* compliant and UL Recognized that meet IEC 61000-4-5 8/20μs current surge requirements.

What do you call an engineer who doesn’t protect his circuit with a TVS diodes? Fired. For engineers who struggle with controlling transient voltage spikes, or just want to reduce the likelihood of a costly lawsuit, the PTVS15 range of diodes from Bourns provide standoff voltages between 58 volts and 76 volts with a peak pulse current of up to 15 thousand amps.

The range of TVS diodes also offer bidirectional protection which helps to eliminate additional components, and the PTVS15 range are surface mount devices which eases manufacturing while removing the need for through hole parts. For additional protection, the PTVS15 range of TVS protection diodes also have a lower clamping voltage when under surge, and the surge protection ratings has little variation over the entire operating temperature range of minus 55 degrees Celsius to 125 degrees Celsius.
