SYCAMORE Contact is the ultra-reliable, durable three-point SMT contact for high volume, advanced automated assembly. Supplied in a single-part SMT socket design featuring a low profile of only 0.3mm above the PCB. Available in top and bottom entry versions that accept between 0.8mm to 1.3mm and 1.5mm to 1.9mm diameter pins, and is open-ended, so mating pin depth is not limited.
All SYCAMORE contacts are available in tape and reel packaging ready for automated assembly. The SMT placement feet provide the pickup areas on either side of the product. Pack size is 1400 contacts per reel, surface mount PCB sockets.

Have you ever tried to put square peg in a round hole? I didn’t think so, and not all components can plug into a regularly spaced socket. In our Harwin SYCAMORE Contacts, the single piece beryllium-copper contact that can be used for signal or power with all those on-form components. Variants of the contact allow for top or bottom entry of the pins with sockets, with sockets to fit 0.8 to 1.9 millimeters, and an open design that accommodates extra long pins.
Contacts are surface mount, with sockets sticking through a hole in the PCV and they have three points of contact. I don’t have time to go through all the math right now, but that’s fifty percent more contact points than traditional sockets with only two points of contact, and that improves contact reliability. SYCAMORE Contacts are perfect for plug in sensors using fire, security, gas retention, home automation, and other devices where you need components to be easily replaceable, or with components that can’t stand exposure to high temperatures, and they’re compatible with automated assembly.
