Honeywell Honeywell SMART Arc SPS-A Series & SMART Arc CAN Position Sensors

Honeywell SPS-A Series SMART Arc Position Sensor Configuration offers 0° to 100° and 0° to 180° sensing ranges. These Sensors are a non-contact sensing solution, providing highly accurate motion control and improving operation efficiency and safety. SPS-A Series position sensor utilizes magnetoresistive technology to detect the position of a magnet relative to the sensor in one of two available sensing ranges.

Honeywell SMART Arc CAN 145° Position Sensors uses a ring magnet for easy integration in pinned joint applications, communication is transmitted via industry-standard CAN J1939 connectivity. SMART Arc sensors utilize magnetoresistive technology to determine the position of a magnet relative to the sensor in one of two available sizes, within a sensing range of 0° to 145°, this makes these sensors more robust than typical rotary position sensors or in-cylinder sensors.

Sometimes people call me smart, other times they add something to it. Like smart aleck. So when my contacts at Honeywell started to tell me about their Smart Arc, I thought they were somehow complementing me, but it’s really about their new position sensors. Honeywell SMART Arc Position Sensors utilize magnetoresistive technology and an ASIC to accurately and reliably determine the position of a magnet relative to the sensor. The non-contact design improves reliability and durability, and it can be used in many harsh environments.

The sensor is easy to install and provides flexibility with a wide range of air gap tolerance. It also has a self-diagnostic feature to provide predictive maintenance feedback and reduce downtime. Honeywell SPS-A Series SMART Arc Position Sensors are offered with 100 degree and 180 degree sensing ranges and provide an analog voltage output. The SMART Arc CAN sensors have a 145 degree sensing range and a digital output to a CAN interface.
