KEMET PHE426 and PHE450 metallized film pulse capacitors use a polypropylene dielectric and are designed for applications with intermittent charges and discharges at high values of the original current charge or discharge. ThePHE426 and PHE450 pulse capacitors are generally used for coupling, bypassing, filtering, snubbering or pulse operation in SMPS at low and high AC voltages of high frequency where there is a need for high pulse rise time and high ionization levels. KEMET pulse operation capacitors exhibit fast rise and fall times resulting in high dU/dt when exposed to to high current pulses. KEMET pulse capacitors are constructed by depositing the electrodes under a vacuum on the plastic film with contact to the metallized layers made possible through a special metal alloy spray. The results are a KEMET pulse capacitor with low inductance and low series resistance available in multiple winding configurations depending on the voltages and lead spacing needed.
