KEMET KEMET PMZ2035 X1 RC Network Capacitors

KEMET PMZ2035 metallized paper capacitors feature a high dielectric constant with excellent self-healing properties and transient handling capabilities.  KEMET metallized paper capacitors develop a high ionization level due to the impregnated dielectric material and maintain outstanding reliability in mains connected and other low frequency applications.  KEMET Evox PMZ2035 capacitors are constructed of a multi-layer metallized paper dielectric encapsulated and impregnated in self-extinguishing material meeting the requirements of UL94V-O.  Typical applications of the KEMET PMZ2035 capacitors are interference suppressors. KEMET PMZ2035 metallized paper capacitors are classified as X1 capacitors while maintaining the highest possible safety regarding active and passive flammability.

Self Healing of KEMET Impregnated Paper Capacitors

If a conducting particle or a voltage surge punctures the dielectric, an arc occurs at the point of failure melting the surrounding metal and insulating the area of the breakdown. In the metallized paper capacitor as processed by KEMET a breakdown caused by a short transient normally results in an improvement of the insulation resistance. KEMET metallized paper capacitors are to be preferred if the capacitor is to be used where uncontrolled transient voltages can occur.
