I’m fairly tall and sometimes people envy my ability to reach the top shelf in stores, but I envy their ability to fit in small spaces, like economy seats in planes. Kingbright has taken fitting into small spaces to the extreme with their HELI[CA1] -UltraMiniature series LEDs, with an 0201 package that has the world’s smallest footprint at 0.65 by 0.35 by 0.20 millimeters.
This is over 50% smaller than 0402 LEDs making the HELI-UM series[CA2] ideal for space-constrained portable devices, such as mobile and wearable applications or disposable medical devices. They’re offered in white and a variety of colors with exceptional brightness to suit different backlighting and indicator needs and have a wide viewing angle for easy visibility.
Despite their small size, HELI-UM series LEDs are compatible with automatic placement equipment similar to other 0201 components, allowing for rapid and low-cost assembly.
