OHMITE TKH45 Series Thick Film Resistors

OHMITE TKH45 Series Thick Film Resistors are rated at 45W with a thermal resistance of 3.0°C/W in a surface mount design capable of high wattage dissipation with the proper heatsink and thermal considerations. The TKH45 thick film resistors offer excellent rf characteristics for high speed pulse operation and operate at a temperature range from -55°C to +175°C. TKH45 thick film resistors have a maximum opertaing current of 10A and a capacitance of 2.65pF. Typical applications include bleeder, gate control, motor control inverters, rush current protection, and snubbers.

Unlike so many failed and forgotten resolutions, Ohmite succeeded in its pursuit of a slimmed-down power resistor. The TKH45 series resistors have the same footprint as standard TO-252 resistors, but without the bulk, as they measure just 0.91mm thick. TKH45 resistors are 45W thick film chip resistors with many advantages besides their low profile. The thick film construction requires no wire bonding or soldering of internal chip resistors, which increases reliability while reducing inductance for improved performance in pulsed applications.

The resistors also have fewer thermal layers and a large resistance area for improved thermal performance, with a thermal resistance of just 3.0°C/W, and they can be used with Ohmite’s D series heatsink. The TKH45 series has a wide -55°C to +175°C temperature range and is ideal for use in automotive applications, PV, UPS, motor control inverters, and other high-wattage applications.
