This TTI Tech Specs video for Omron B5W High Precision Air Quality Sensor explains Omron’s B5W-LD0101 is a high precision air quality sensor that can detect particles as small as 0.5 µm, for more accurate sensing of the 2.5µm standard for fine inhalable particles. The sensor uses a unique flow path structure and integrated heater that efficiently generates stable airflow through the sensor, up to six times the airflow of competitors, providing consistent, accurate results.

To the naked eye dust pollution is invisible; however, Omron engineers have been obsessing about this problem and believe they have found a solution. Omron’s B5W-LD0101 is a high precision air quality sensor that can detect particles as small as 0.5 µm, for more accurate sensing of the 2.5µm standard for fine inhalable particles.
The sensor uses a unique flow path structure and integrated heater that efficiently generates stable airflow through the sensor, up to six times the airflow of competitors, providing consistent, accurate results. Particles scatter light between an LED and photodetector, and the sensor uses two integrated signal processing units, each for a pulse output, one is to indicate detected particles larger than 0.5 µm and another for particles larger than 2.5 µm. The sensor features a slim optical design and a compact package to simplify installation, and is ideal for use in air purifiers, air conditioners, and HVAC systems.
