“Dirty”, “dusty”, and “wet” aren’t the words you would use to describe the perfect environment for a PCB. So if that’s what you’re designing for, then put your board in one of Phoenix Contact’s ECS housings to keep your electronics protected from the elements. The enclosures can be used nearly anywhere as they provide ingress protection up to IP67, optional venting, are rated for temperatures from negative 40 to positive 85 degrees Celsius, and can be mounted to walls or poles.

The faceplate, which is offered with robust latch or screw lock mechanisms and tamper protection, is available with 1 or 2 M12 nuts, a cable gland, or as a blank for applications that require customization or simply don’t need external connections. Internally, the enclosures can house PCBs up to 121 by 154 millimeters and up to 2.36 mm thick, with available locking clips to retain the PCB when the faceplate is removed.
