Vishay Vishay X1 Interference Suppression Film Capacitor

The Vishay X1 Film Capacitors are designed for mounting on printed-circuit boards. The capacitors packed in bandoliers are designed for mounting in printed-circuit boards by means of automatic insertion machines. Because of the high energy availability and the severe environment of surge voltages and pulses, applications of capacitors in connection with the mains must be chosen carefully.

  • Maximum permissible AC voltage up to 530 V 

Applications

  • Stable voltage dropper: A stable capacitance must be guaranteed over the total lifetime of the application 
  • An adjusted tolerance: To guarantee a well defined current supply 
  • Continuous biased by almost the mains voltage: Internal ionization must be avoided

“High Robustness Under High Humidity” is a section that most people would skip, but if you’re designing power electronics for industrial applications then “High Robustness Under High Humidity” is key. Vishay’s F340X1 EMI suppression film capacitors are rated for 480VAC, are designed for three-phase across the line filtering and can withstand up to 530VAC to allow for ten percent headroom.

They’re also designed to perform reliably in harsh environments and have been tested to THB Class IIIB requirements to prove it: Eighty five degrees Celcius, eighty five percent relative humidity for one thousand hours at rated voltage. Capacitors are available from 220 nanofards to 8.2 microfarads and have a flame retardant, epoxy resin sealed plastic case that meets UL 94 V-0 requirements. In addition to being lead free and RoHS compliant, the capacitors are halogen free and Vishay Green.
